The Manchester Beacon for Public Engagement in partnership with the Council for Ethnic Minority Voluntary Sector Organisations (CEMVO) presents a learning opportunity as part of the STEP UP programme.

"STEP UP PROGRAMME"

 12th NOVEMBER, BOARDROOM  MUSEUM OF SCIENCE AND INDUSTRY MANCHESTER (13hr30-16hr30)

The Manchester Beacon aims to develop two-way sustainable engagement  and dialogue with local communities in Ardwick, Rusholme, Moss Side, Hulme and Longsight and ethnically diverse communities in Salford.  

This half day training for University staff, partners and stakeholders will raise awareness of culturally diverse communities engaged through the Manchester Beacon programme by exploring successful diversity management.

Please re-familiarise yourself with your equality and diversity policy prior to attendance.

AIM OF THE SESSION

This training session aims to allow participants to explore their role in assisting their organisations successful Diversity Management. Following a revision of equality laws, you will explore current issues, and participate in workshops looking at organisational policies.

OBJECTIVES

By the end of this workshop participants will:

• Revision of equality law
• Explore the concepts of Diversity Management
• Explore de development of diversity policy including the achievement of a diverse workforce
• Discuss Politics and the Law
• Review diversity successes & challenges
